The Mountaineer Lodge is nestled in a pine forest with tremendous
views of Mount Temple and its summit glacier. The Lodge has
the feel of mountain seclusion yet is easily accessed from
the Trans Canada Highway and is a scenic 5 minute walk from
a variety of services and shopping in the village of Lake
Louise, Alberta. The mountain and glacier ringed
lake that is the world-famous "Lake Louise" is only
a short distance up the hill from the lodge.
The Mountaineer Lodge consists of two buildings with a total of 78 rooms in various combinations and layouts to comfortably accommodate couples, families or vacation groups. The rooms offer a charming environment in which to relax after a day of hiking, sightseeing, wildlife viewing or traveling. The lodge boasts a whirlpool and steam room and several rooms are configurable as suites with separate sitting/lounge areas. All the rooms in the Main Lodge have a microwave and mini-fridge.
With Lake Louise being centrally located deep in the Canadian
Rockies, Mountaineer Lodge is a perfect base from which to
take day trips into the mountains. From the lodge you can
visit Banff, drive to the Columbia Ice Fields and Jasper National
Park or access Kootenay National Park to the south and Yoho
National Park to the west. The historic spiral tunnel on the
Canadian Pacific Railway line near Field, British Columbia
is an easy drive through spectacular mountain scenery. (Lake
Louise is just minutes by car from the Continental Divide
and the Alberta / British Columbia provincial border.)
